SERVICE AWARDS

The Annual Service Awards are presented as a partnership between the AIA Buffalo/WNY chapter and the Buffalo Architecture Foundation (BAF). They were established to recognize dedicated individuals and firms from the local chapter. It is the goal of AIA Buffalo/WNY and the BAF to promote the Chapter and each firm through the recognition of dedicated service to the profession of architecture in the WNY region.  All winners will be recognized at the Service Awards meeting and will be included in the 2020 AIA Buffalo/WNY Design Awards booklet publication.

ELIGIBILITY

Any individual, organization, or firm may be nominated. Those nominated need not be members of AIA Buffalo/WNY Chapter unless the award requirements state otherwise, however, nominations must be made by a current member of the chapter. Individuals may nominate themselves.

JURY/AWARD SELECTION

The Jury is comprised of current and former AIA Buffalo/WNY chapter representatives and for the Pro-Bono Award selection, assistance is provided by the Buffalo Architecture Foundation (BAF).

Each entry in the AIA Buffalo/WNY Service Award program is judged on the success with which it has met its individual requirements. Entries are weighed individually, not in competition with others. At the jury’s discretion, we may recognize multiple organizations or individuals per award. The jury may consider previous nominations and may make additional nominations of its own. Posthumous awards may be given. Based on the number and/or quality of submissions received for that year, an award may not be given. Each Award is recognized at the discretion of the jury.
